Here's a link to PDFs of some of the sidebar content separated out from their chapters. These are still in rough draft needing some high level accuracy checks, but this is what I teach my local newbies, and I think it might be useful to others.
As of 8/1/24, three draft chapters (of 16) are currently available to read in their entirety. All other chapters are fully drafted and only need proofreading and fact-checking. Current word count: 64k. Consider donating to help me complete and post the first draft of the remaining chapters.
This is all written! I just need proper fact checking!

I've instructed at officiating clinics for more than 10 years. Want me to come to you and your league? Let's talk.
Additional clinic topics available include expert instruction on advanced NSO procedures and paperwork.
Please help fund the proofreading, formatting, and fact checking that remains to be done for this first draft. The uncompleted chapters are valuable resources I want to provide to the community. Please help financially if you can.
C2HR is the unauthorized study guide to help new flat track roller derby skating officials, by Wishbone Breaker. Any new official can find a tremendous amount of information here. The audience I kept in mind when writing are the leagues and skater trainers who are responsible for training officials, but feel there isn't comprehensive guides to help their officials advance from beginner to experienced. C2HR offers a suggested sequence of learning and details how the steps in one chapter are built on in the later chapters to help a skating official gain confidence. The book includes valuable quick reference tables and lists to help ensure officials can digest the information and refer to it later.
I started officiating flat track roller derby in 2011 and began hosting officiating clinics in 2013. Throughout that time, I've been a skater, a WFTDA skater rep, interleague coordinator, League Head Ref, Officials Certification Chair, and served on the WFTDA Tournament Oversight Selection Panel. I have officiated more than 700 games and Tournament Headed WFTDA post-season on both sides of the Atlantic.
I would not be where I am today without the continued love and camaraderie of the League of Extraordinary Officials.
Comments? Suggestions? Want to criticize my life choices? What chapter do you want me to finish next? What new content do you want me to write?
Please help fund the proofreading, formatting, and fact checking that remains to be done for this first draft. The unpublished chapters are valuable resources I want to provide to the community. Donating also encourages me to keep working to post the unpublished chapters.
I'm hosting these sample chapters on my personal website. In the least I eventually want to provide the completed edited book in an eBook format that people can download or print using a print-on-demand service. I'd also love to hire a professional editor and graphic designer. I'd love to have live, functional links in the completed book that can link to other resources. Time, money, resources... if you can donate something to help fund all this, please click below and send a few dollars my way.
